Supporting Student Success through Scholarships (S4) S-STEM Scholarship
Coastline College is pleased to offer the Supporting Student Success through Scholarships (S4) S-STEM Scholarship through the generosity of a National Science Foundation (NSF) Grant. Throughout the six-year program, 75 Coastline College students will receive a total of $900,000 in scholarship awards.
To be eligible for the Supporting Student Success through Scholarships (S4) S-STEM Scholarship, students must have 1) low-income status and 2) academic potential. Low-income status is defined as having zero Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and/or Pell Grant eligible. Academic potential, to allow for equitable consideration of all students, is defined as having a high school GPA of 2.6 or higher and a high school diploma.
Students who qualify for the Supporting Student Success through Scholarships (S4) S-STEM Scholarship will receive approximately $3,000 for five semesters in a three-year performance period. This calculation is based on a student’s unmet need determined by the Financial Aid Office. The calculation may vary each semester. Students will be moving through a Coastline College Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADT) program cohort following a structured course pathway for one of the five STEM disciplines, leading to degree attainment and/or transfer within five semesters. The maximum scholarship award amount is $15,000 per year.
To remain in the program, students must designate Coastline College as their primary institution, remained enrolled in a minimum of 6 units each semester, are required to maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA and complete of a minimum of 67% of courses attended. This academic standing aligns with the Federal policy for satisfactory academic progress.
